HEAD COACH (Girls)

Jake Floyd is in his 2nd year as head coach of the Lady Wildcats after spending 7 years as an assistant at Guyer. Overall, this is his 18th year in coaching including stops in Denton and Frisco to begin his career. You’ll always be able to find his wife Misti behind the bench in the stands and he has two daughters, Ryleigh (senior) and Keira (sophomore) at Guyer as well.  

VARSITY ASSISTANT COACH (Girls)

Kelly Folsom is in her fifth year of coaching at Guyer High School.  Prior to moving to Denton, Kelly grew up in Oklahoma and played collegiate basketball at Connor’s State Junior College before finishing her basketball career at Oklahoma State University.  Kelly is entering her 22nd year of teaching Physical Education in Denton ISD.  Coach Folsom is passionate about working with students of all ages and helping them reach their goals. Kelly is the wife of Bobby Folsom, and mother of two fabulous children, Wyatt and Abigail.  

JUNIOR VARSITY COACH (Girls)

 Malaika Green was born and raised in Coppell, Tx. She played collegiate basketball at the University of Texas at Arlington then pursued a professional career overseas in 9 different countries. After her career, she joined the Air Force and began training/coaching. This will be her second-year coaching as a Guyer Wildcat, and she is looking forward to this season. Go Wildcats!  

FRESHMAN COACH (Girls)

 Britney Simpson is entering into her 2nd year at Guyer and 4th year coaching overall. She graduated from Texas A&M (WHOOP!) and started her career in Lake Dallas where she married GGB’s biggest fan, the original Coach Simpson. She has played and coached in the DFW area for 20 years and is excited to continue her time as a Wildcat!
